Bedtime!

I'm in the process of training Cannon to
1. Sleep in his crib (instead of the bassinet in our room)
&
2. Sleep through the night.

When I say I'm in the process of it, I really mean I've tried it once, in the middle of the night for about 45 min.
After hearing all that screaming, and being afraid of getting the "I love you mom, but I really don't like you" look in the morning, I got him out.
Fail.

But I'm sick of not getting any sleep. (What happened to my baby that used to sleep 8 hours straight?) So tonight I'm getting me some caffeine and a nice project to do...maybe some ear plugs, and that boy will stay in his crib all night!

Love him.

Be strong. You got this! I hear they cry for a couple nights, but after that they usually get the hang of it. I obviously have no experience in this.

It's a good thing I am not there because I wouldn't be able to stand hearing him cry! That is why all of you kids slept with us for years (although I don't recommend that either.) Good luck with that. I will be curious to see how long you last tonight. :)

If at first you don't succeed..Try and try again, and again, and again, and again. Just a little fatherly advice.
If you lived up here in Boise, He could come and spend the night at Papa's house!

I love you,

Dad

uhhhhhh i need to do this too. thats funny cause i just got done talking to my visiting teacher about this too! i am going to do this tonight too!!!

but her advice is just get them into a routine... like take a bath.... lotion rub down... cuddle... then put them in their bed and leave!

its prob harder on the parents then it is the baby!! but good luck to you tonight!!!!

Yep you are doing the right thing. Putting up with crying 1 or 2 nights is worth the sleep you'll get all the rest of the nights!

P.S. You shouldn't have to get that "face" till he's about 15!"

Bree, it's two in the morning and I can't sleep. I was just wondering if you are awake listening to a sweet crying baby. I hope not. I hope you are both sleeping soundly. Love you.

From the day we brought Presley home she slept in her crib in the other room. Our hardest thing was the nap time just putting her down instead of rocking her. I hated letting her cry but seriously after a few days everything was better. I would put her down and then get in the shower just so I didnt hear her cry. Invest in some ear plugs. Be strong mama.
